Aphrodite is the goddess of beauty and carnal love in Greek Mythology, born from the sperm of Uranus who fell into the sea.
Aphrodite and Hephaestus
When Aphrodite arrived at the Olympus, all the gods wanted to marry her. To avoid a war between them, Zeus gave Aphrodite in marriage to Hephaestus, the ugliest of the gods.
According to another version, Hephaestus forged a belt that made whoever wore it irresistible, not wanting to take the risk that someone could become more beautiful than her, Aphrodite married Hephaestus to get it.
Aphrodite and Ares
One day that Aphrodite was with one of her many lovers, Ares, the two of them were surprised by Helios, the sun god, who immediately warned Aphrodite's husband, Hephaestus.
To take revenge, he forged a transparent net that he installed above Aphrodite's bed. Once these two divinities were imprisoned, he dragged them naked before the gods of Olympus, who laughed at them.
